Paramedic Ernest “Glenn” Adams Recognized

Ernest “Glenn” Adams was posthumously given the Philip S. Young Award for lifetime achievement in EMS service at the Sussex County Firefighter’s meeting on October 27, 2015.  The award was presented to his family: Wife Lisa Adams, Daughter Megan Callaway, Son-in-law Amos Callaway, and family friend Jim Gijanto; by the Delaware State EMS Association.

Matthew Gajdos, 1st VP, & Mike McMichael, Secretary, reviewed Glenn’s many achievements and years of service to the audience and presented the award to the Adams Family.

Megan remembered, “Dad never wanted acknowledgement for doing well as long as his patients were able to go home to their families for another day.  Dad was my hero and role model.”

Glenn passed away on June 19th this year after a lifetime of service to the citizens and visitors of Delaware. He served with Marydel, Seaford, Laurel, Delmar, and Sussex County EMS over his many years that included over 1,000 patient contacts.
