Association Assists Fire School at Del. State Fair - Harrington, DE

Again this year the Delaware State Fire School had a very strong presence at the Delaware State Fair. Under the Grandstand the Fire School had an information booth giving out information on Public Fire Safety Education and answering general questions about the school and the fire service. Also, children had an opportunity to learn from using a 911 Simulator. This year the Sussex County Firefighter’s Association was also represented assisting Fire School Staff. The Fire School wishes to thank John Tomeski, Sr., John Tomeski, Jr. as well as Vice-President Todd Reilly for their assistance. On three nights the Fire School participated in the nightly parade around the Fairgrounds. The Fire School Van pulled a trailer with banners promoting the Fair as well as the upcoming National Fire Prevention Week. Again, Lowe’s of Dover donated Fire Extinguishers to the Fire School to giveaway in a drawing. Ten individuals were winners of new kitchen fire extinguishers.
