The Blades Volunteer Fire Company along with the partnership of the Delaware State Fire School, Seaford Wal-Mart and Hungry Howie's-Seaford held the 2010 Fire Prevention Poster and Essay Winner's Banquet at the Blades Fire Hall on Friday, February 4th. Fire Prevention Chairman Todd Reilly and Seaford Wal-Mart Manager Jim Butridge presented the First Place Winner's a recognition Plaque and a new bicycle. Second and Third Place Winners received a gift certificate from Wal-Mart. Mike Lowe, Senior Instructor Delaware State Fire School served as Master of Ceremony for the evening. Each Student winner, their Teacher,Principals and Family were invited for a Pizza Buffet. The First,Second and Third place winner's from the Kindergarten were Travis Phillips, Alexis Nickerson and Bryce Hendricks. First Grade Winner's were Tori Adams, Jyrell Thomas and Amanda Diaz-Cabada. The Second Grade winner's were Amanda Jewell and Valerie Aquirre Enriqi. Third Grade Student Winner's were Milan Patel, Sarah Cullen and David Kelly. Fourth Grade winners included Braydan Graham, Aliyah Patel and David Allen. Fifth Grade winner's were Isaiah Farris, Garrett Thomas and Katie Morrison. The Student winner's in the Special Catogory wer Jyla Mumford and Aiyana Latham. The Fire Prevention Committee members that were able to attend were Todd Reilly, President and Chairman Fire Prevention Chairman, Chief Earl Chaffinch, Ambulance Captain Paula Moore, Firefighter William Batson, Firefighter, Deana Hearn, Firefighter/Photographer Danah Chaffinch. The Fire Prevention would like to Thank each Student for their Participation, Their Teacher and Families for their support for their help in promoting Fire Safety.
