Helo Water Demo Drill - Cape May-Lewes Ferry, Lewes

A demonstration of water rescue techniques utilizing DSP Trooper 5 was held on Thursday at the Ferry Terminal in Lewes. Many people who have been involved in the process were on hand to see the demo on a very windy and cold day. The drill consisted of putting "victims" in the water, and then using a basket with a winch on the helicopter to hoist them out. Many agencies were involved with the drill including DSP, U.S. Coast Guard, Delaware River and Bay, DNREC, Lewes F.D., Slaughter Beach F.D., Sussex County Command Post, and many others from up and down the state. State Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf also stopped by to view the demonstration.
